Discuss the implications of the California v. Ciraolo decision for law enforcement. Do you think the results of this decision have had a positive or negative impact for law enforcement? Have they had a positive or negative impact for constitutional rights? Explain your answer
What will be an ideal response?
California v. Ciraolo has implications for law enforcement. They are that law
enforcement officers are not limited by ground-level sight of contraband. This
enables police to use what they see from an airplane. For constitutional rights, this
expansion of plain view is reasonable, because the expectation of privacy is low
when something is out in the open.
