B
Cooper's ligaments are connective tissue that extend vertically from the deep fascia through the breast to the inner layer of skin, thereby providing support. There are 12 to 20 minute openings on the surface of the nipple. These are openings of the lactiferous ducts through which milk and colostrum are excreted. Each of these ducts widens to form a sinus that acts as a reservoir for milk during lactation. Several sebaceous glands (Montgomery's tubercles) are present on the surface of the areola to lubricate the nipple.
