How is the age of Earth determined if no rocks older than 4.1 billion years old have been preserved?

What will be an ideal response?

The radiometric age dating of meteorites is used. Specifically, Lead-lead dating is used both on Earth rocks and on meteorites. When this is done, the extrapolation of the isotope ratios for the Earth rocks matches the extrapolation of the isotope ratios of the meteorites at 4.45 billion years ago.
