The “retreat to the wall” rule and “stand your ground” rule are opposites. “Retreat to the wall” requires an individual to retreat as far as possible before employing deadly force. On the other hand, “stand your ground” rule does not require an individual to retreat. Rather, an individual is may use deadly force when faced with an aggressor.
