Robert J. Sternberg proposed the triarchic theory of intelligence. He proposed that intelligence comes in three forms: analytical, creative, and practical. Analytic intelligence involves the ability to analyze, judge, evaluate, compare, and contrast. Creative intelligence consists of the ability to create, design, invent, originate, and imagine. Practical intelligence focuses on the ability to use, apply, implement, and put into practice. Gardner's theory proposes that intelligence consists of verbal, mathematical, spatial, movement, musical, interpersonal, and intrapersonal skills.
