Ans: Varies. A bona fide treatment is one that is based on sound psychological principles and has been widely accepted by professionals in the human services. Having evidence in support of a given bona fide treatment is not a requirement of the definition but the vast majority of them have passed the test of evidence-based practice. Some of the treatments for which the student may be familiar are cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. There are many others.
