Facilitating learning by arranging experiences
Chapter 2 identifies and describes three important aspects involved in facilitating learning. They include arranging experiences, using instructional techniques, and monitoring and flexibility. Based on your reading and discussions, both in and out of class, identify four ways in which experiences can be arranged and provide an original example of each as it applies to your intended or possible major. Rank each of the types from most to least important and justify your rating.
What will be an ideal response?
ANS: Scoring guide:
Key elements that should appear in an appropriate response:
* A satisfactory response identifies the four ways of arranging teaching and learning experiences and provides a student-relevant example that is clearly related to the type of experience. Complete and appropriate responses are necessary for full credit.
* The second part of the assignment involves a professional decision which must be justified based on the nature of the student's major. The amount of credit depends on the degree of thoughtfulness in the ranking and the thoroughness in the justification.
