Describe a CT scan

What will be an ideal response?

A computed tomography (CT) scan uses X-rays and digital technology to produce a cross-sectional image of the body. CT scans use radiation, passing a series of X-rays through the patient's body at different angles. The computer then creates cross-sectional images from these X-rays. Soft tissue can be distinguished because it absorbs the X-ray differently. A CT scan produces a more useful image than a traditional X-ray.
