How can parents be involved in supporting basic math facts instruction?

What will be an ideal response?

Math fact practice is a good way to involve parents. Teachers may ask parents to commit to practicing math facts with their children at home for about 10 minutes three or four days each week. This type of practice can be easily coordinated with classroom instruction. Parents would benefit from an orientation during which the teacher explains the fact program employed in the classroom and reviews suggestions for working with students at home. The teacher could create a tutoring guide to further support parents. Ongoing communication between the teacher and the parents about facts practice is critical so parents know which facts to practice at home with their children.
