Briefly explain the difference between water-soluble and fat-soluble drugs
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: A water-soluble drug is excreted in the urine because of its attraction to the water content of urine. A fat-soluble drug is more attracted to the lipid (fat) structure of the renal tubule wall than to the urine, and so most of it passes through the renal tubule, into a nearby capillary, and returns to the blood.
