What is the main role of police investigators?
What will be an ideal response?
The main role of police investigators is to solve crimes, arrest the criminals, preserve, and present evidence to the district attorney's office for successful prosecution. It is important the investigators preserve and analyze these components on a continuing basis using both standard investigative techniques and modern technology. The most successful investigations leading to conviction have an assistant district attorney involved in all investigations. Arresting the criminal is only one part of the investigation, successful prosecution is the second part. More important than clearance rates is keeping the criminal off the streets.
