Describe the chemical properties of soda-lime-silica glass.

What will be an ideal response?

Glass used in typical applications in building construction is very durable and more resistant to corrosion than many other materials. Since it is not porous, it will not absorb moisture or chemical elements in the ground or atmosphere. There are a few exceptions that may occur in isolated industrial applications. Hot concentrated alkali solutions and superheated water can cause soda-lime-silica glass to dissolve, while hydrofluoric acids will cause corrosion.
