Steps for administering rescue breathing:
1. Seal the nose
2. Place your mouth around the outside of the patient’s mouth, forming a seal
3. Blow air into the patient’s mouth
4. Make sure sufficient oxygen reaches the lungs
5. Allow the lungs to deflate between each breath
6. If unable to get air into the lungs, reposition airway and attempt to ventilate again
7. If still unable to get air into the lungs, assume airway obstruction
8. Follow steps to clear airway obstruction if necessary
