How should you professionally accept or reject a job offer?
Accept the job in writing. Even if you accept a job verbally, follow up in writing. Summarize your understanding of the conditions of the offer. Notify other employers with whom you are interviewing that you have accepted an offer. Notify your references and support network of your new job and thank them for their assistance. If you decide that the job is not for you, politely decline the offer by phone. Follow up with a letter thanking the employer for the offer and wishing the employer continued success.
