Who Stalks Whom?
What will be an ideal response?
Experts say that the motive for stalking can be romantic jealousy—gay men are the most likely victims of male-on-male stalking. But male stalking is often linked to the high-profile positions that the targets hold in society.
Researchers say that men stalk other men for primarily the same reasons that they stalk women: a complex mix of mental and personality disorders that can include schizophrenia, drug dependency, narcissism, and antisocial behavior.
Although only a small percentage of stalking victims are actually physically attacked, psychological and social consequences are also common. About one-third of women and one-fifth of men who have been stalked sought psychological counseling as a result of their victimization.
