This is a field project that needs to be done through interviews with a local police department with a formal report to the class. The legalistic officers will stress that the law must be obeyed. The watchman officers stress keeping peace in the community. The service officer will stress delivering services to the citizens of the community. These are models and, at times, a certain department may show signs of each for a certain shift, division, or circumstance.
