Compare and contrast the three types of feedback seekers in terms of their potential goals in receiving feedback.

What will be an ideal response?

People vary to the extent to which they are motivated to seek and constructively receive feedback. There are three main types of seekers or orientations. Avoidant—who actively avoids failure and any negative evaluations from others. Performance prove—who does not actively avoiding failure etc. but filters feedback to only recognize and accept feedback that confirms one’s competence. Both of these only allow for positive feedback. But growth and improvement also come from negative feedback. Only orientation that accepts negative feedback is learning orientation, which involves a desire for betterment by actively seeking and accepting both positive and negative feedback. This is the most constructive form of feedback seeking.
