Explain the Cornell notetaking system.

What will be an ideal response?

When you use the Cornell system, you vertically divide each notebook page into two sections, about one-third from the left side of the page. You devote the larger right hand section of the page to the actual notes you take in class. After each class session, you review your notes and write more organized, focused notes in the left hand column. This column becomes your recall column for the material in the larger column. The Cornell system encourages you to analyze the notes you have taken in class and organize them into a coherent whole.
