What are the three methods used to measure the preload on a fastener?

What will be an ideal response?

1. The most common is with a torque wrench.
2. A torque angle gauge is another method.
3. The most accurate method is to measure the actual amount of bolt stretch. This is not practical, however, unless both ends of the bolt are accessible. High-performance engine builders measure bolt stretch on connecting rod bolts using a dial indicator before and after torquing. This can also be done using a micrometer, but accessibility is often a problem.
