The top line (with the triangles) indicates the goal that was set for Stella's progress (increase her WCPM by 2 each week). The middle line (with diamonds) shows Stella's actual growth. This has stayed near 25 WCPM for the past eight weeks, indicating that Stella has not made the growth we expected. The bottom line (with squares) shows the number of errors (miscues) she has made each week. Thus, as you can see, Stella is not making progress in oral reading rate, so intervention is indicated.
