You are caring for a patient and he has not made any urine for the last 8 hours. What should you do?

What will be an ideal response?

Notify the nurse immediately anytime there is a change in urine output and when a patient does not make urine for more than 4 to 6 hours. A patient should make at least 30 mL of urine an hour. If he does not, it should be reported to the nurse. This could be a sign of kidney failure and needs to be properly addressed.
