Why should schools and teachers use multiple criteria in selecting books for reading instruction?

What will be an ideal response?

Children are complex and the purposes for reading in school vary. Children with deep knowledge and interest in an topic or genre are capable of reading a book above their grade level, while reading and studying a new area of science demands a book that is much more accessible. Strong readers can cope with less considerate text than weaker readers. A book suitable for the development fluency should present only moderate challenge, while a book for developing reading comprehension through a read-aloud can be much more complex.
