List and describe three areas which people should consider when taking control of their surroundings
1) The healing power of nature: consider spending more time outdoors, planting a garden, having plants indoors, or hanging art with scenes that depict nature.
2) Clutter control: spend some time removing clutter in your work or study environment. Organize these areas so you don't spend time looking for things. Plan an "organization day" once per month to sort through emails, closets, and whatever else clutters your environment.
3) The impact of technology: although technology and social media can be helpful, feelings of dependence, incompetence, anxiety and frustration with the use or failure of technology can produce stress. Learning how to step away from technology and/or find assistance for using technology is an important part of gaining control over one's immediate environment.
