The 3 types of questions are: (1) Presenting circumstances of a new client: data sources include: reviewing case file; interview the client; ask the family members about why they think the client needs service; (2) Client experience during the initial contact: Interview the client; ask an objective, unrecognizable observer to watch new clients in the waiting room; watch intake assessments; interview support staff; and (3) Challenges of aftercare services from a residential program: Review numerical reports about youth placements in the community; ask recently released youth to provide a tour of their community and describe the challenges they face. Students will provide a variety of their own examples.
