What is the difference between a patent assignment and a patent license?
What will be an ideal response?
A patent assignment is an outright grant or transfer of one's entire ownership interest in a patent (or a percentage of one's ownership interest in a patent). A license is a grant of permission to use another's patent. A license is, in effect, a contractual agreement that the patent owner will not sue the licensee for patent infringement arising out of the licensee's use of the patented invention.
