Why is Lake Missoula such a notable water body associated with glaciation?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: This was a proglacial lake in eastern Montana. Several times, a lobe of a continental ice sheet blocked the river and created a deep lake (300 m). Each time, the ice dam would eventually fail and catastrophic floods race along the landscape. The result was the Channeled Scablands which were kilometers across in some places and caused huge amounts of erosion and left giant ripples.
