What will be an ideal response?

Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy were all in the Triple Alliance. Russia, England, and France then formed the triple entente. When Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, Serbia was aligned with Russia, and Russia then declared war on Austria Hungary. Austria-Hungary aligned Germany in response, and then, the whole continent was at war with one another. Austria-Hungary declared on Serbia which brought Russia into the war. Then both alliances followed their aligned members into war, and the whole continent became a giant battlefield.
