What are your obligations when you suspect a child in your class is being abused? Include in your discussion the steps you should take as a classroom teacher

What will be an ideal response?

As a teacher you have a legal and ethical obligation to report suspected child abuse according to your school district's procedures for reporting. If unsure of procedures, notify your principal/school social worker/school nurse. Federal law requires that every state maintain a hotline/other systems for reporting abuse, including state statutes that define abuse/neglect and establish reporting procedures.
