Why are dNTPs used as precursors for the DNA polymerase reaction rather than dNDPs?
What will be an ideal response?
The drawback to using dNDPs is that the reverse reaction is easily initiated by Pi, which is a common molecule in the cell. Using dNTPs produces PPi, which is rapidly eliminated thereby preventing the reverse reaction.
