Explain why you do not overtighten the clamp of a metal cable connector when securing a cable to an electrical enclosure.

What will be an ideal response?

Overtightening the clamp on a metal connector can cause the conductors inside the cable to “short out” between each other or to the metal of the connector. It presents an unsafe condition and will cause a circuit breaker to trip or a fuse to blow immediately when you energize the circuit.
