Explain Froebel’s Law of Universal Unity. How does the notion of “play” fit within his ideas? Give an example of how play can be used in the classroom

What will be an ideal response?

Froebel’s idea emphasized a unity of all living things--a oneness of humans, nature, and God. He believed that education should be cooperative rather than competitive and that children should be allowed to develop naturally. The role of the teacher was to help a child develop naturally and learn whenever he or she was ready. He also believed that play was a child’s natural activity and that play was a basis for learning. An example of how play might be used in the classroom is to allow children to play with blocks, where they can count the blocks, stack them according to sizes, or even arrange them by colors.
