Describe the multidisciplinary team approach
What will be an ideal response?
The multidisciplinary team is a group of people (made of representatives from three or more disciplines who work collaboratively), bound by a common purpose and characterized by these five elements (Jackson, 2016):
1. Shared decision making—the entire team participates in the decision making
2. Partnership—characterized by a formal Memorandum of Understanding or Interagency Agreement
3. Interdependency—group and individual outcomes are influenced by the team
4. Balanced power—all members have equal input
5. Process—requires the development and use of protocols to introduce predictability and accountability into the case review process
