Describe what happens in signal transduction, both on the cell membrane and inside the cell. Make sure to explain the link between signal transduction and protein synthesis in your answer.
What will be an ideal response?
Signals can be send between cells by using a signal molecule, which binds to receptor proteins embedded inside the plasma membrane of the receiving cells. The binding of the signal molecule triggers a suite of events inside the receiving cells, just like a relay, which results in either activating the making of a protein, or turning off the making of a protein.
