Do transformers operate more or less efficiently when fully loaded? Explain your answer

What will be an ideal response?

Efficiencies for transformers are higher when they operate more fully loaded. The primary winding current is mostly inductive making it nearly as much as 90° out of phase with the voltage. The mostly resistive secondary winding current will offset this at higher transformer loads so that the total current is more in phase with the voltage and therefore more efficient.
