Describe the advantages of using annotated statutes

What will be an ideal response?

The annotated versions of statute include the following: 1 ) Legislative information (following the text of the statute, any amendments or supplements to the law will be noted by date); 2 ) Historical/statutory notes and references (this information provides the basic reason for the creation of the statute and will likely list the "public law" number); 3 ) Library / research references (this information is provided by citation so that you can quickly refer to other primary and secondary sources to help explain or understand the statute); and 4 ) Case summaries (following each section of a statute, numerous case summaries also help to explain or interpret the language in a statute).
