Uses: mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and as an antiviral. Side effects/interactions: photosensitivity, fatigue, delayed hypersensitivity, serotonin syndrome, N&V. If taken with tyramine containing foods, it could cause a hypertensive crisis. If taken prior to surgery, it could increase the effects of anesthesia. Can also interfere with some medications, such as cyclosporine.
