How did the core and mantle form?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Earth's metallic core separated from the mantle by planetary differentiation in a global magma ocean. Very dense metallic compounds separated from lower-density silicate compounds to produce a metallic core and a silicate mineral mantle. As Earth cooled, crystallization and inward settling of iron metal caused distinction of a solid inner core and a remaining molten outer core. The mantle solidified into silicate minerals with a chemical composition similar to peridotite. Very high temperatures within early Earth resulted from collisions with accreting embryos and higher hear production by radioactive decay.
