What is the person-in-environment (PIE) perspective and why is it important for social work practice?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: The definition of PIE is that there is reciprocity between individuals and environments: individuals can impact various elements of the environment, and the environment can exert conducive or inhibiting influences on the individual. This PIE perspective gave social workers a framework for engaging in assessment and practice interventions aimed at the individual, the environment or both. Key governing elements of the social work profession identify attention to the individual-in-environment as a crucial and defining element of social work practice.
