D
Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common tumor of salivary glands. It most often occurs in the parotid gland. Histologically it is composed of epithelial cell nests and ducts and a connective tissue component that is myxoid or similar to cartilage. All carcinomas of the parotid, even if taken jointly, are less common than pleomorphic adenoma. Among malignant tumors, mucoepidermoid carcinoma has the highest incidence. Adenolymphoma, also known as Warthin's tumor, is a benign glandular tumor composed of tall eosinophilic cells forming ducts and papillae and lymphoid follicles in its stroma.
