Despite important insights from evidence gained through research in neuroscience that the brain can change for the better as we grow older, we have to be careful in how these findings are interpreted. These findings send an intriguing message to our aging population and there is danger in this. As in any relatively new field, descriptions in the media, especially the Internet, may extend well beyond the actual scope of our scientific understanding of the brain.
