. In a brief essay, discuss how bloggers can serve as a force to correct mistaken news published by legacy media.
What will be an ideal response?
Typically, bloggers see something that is incorrect, or at least, that they perceive as incorrect, and start posting about why the story is wrong. Other bloggers will see the posts and add evidence. Finally, the legacy media will start reporting on the results that bloggers are finding. Bloggers have the advantage of not having to be balanced or objective in their reporting. They can report just about the problems with the stories from the legacy media. The best-known example of blogger oversight of traditional media was the Dan Rather story about the Bush National Guard memo.
