Members of the upper class can pursue the fine arts and similar activities because they have cultural capital. Cultural capital refers to resources such as knowledge, verbal and social skills, education, and other assets that give a group advantages.It sets up boundaries between social classes, but cultural expressions and products can contain elements of both popular culture and high culture.
