Explain the three tiers of the Response to Intervention model
What will be an ideal response?
The foundation of the Response to Intervention model, or Tier 1, focuses on universal prevention. At this tier, all children receive high-quality, evidence-based instruction tailored to their individual development and learning needs. All children are screened regularly to identify learners who need additional support. At Tier 2, which is referred to as secondary prevention or strategic intervention, children who have been identified as needing additional supports receive supplemental and/or a targeted group interventions. At Tier 3, representing intensive, individualized intervention, additional intensive, individual supports are implemented for children who are experiencing challenges and to prevent the development of more severe challenges.
