4x = 6x Cross multiplied
4x – 4x = 6x – 4x Added – 4x to both sides
0 = 2x Collected terms
2x = 0 Exchanged sides
2x/2=0/2 Divided both sides by 2
x = 0 Simplify

However: x = 0 can not be a valid solution since the original problem included division by x. Thus, no value of x can solve the problem.
