A five year old child threatens to hold his breath until he dies if his mother does not buy him an ice cream cone. Would you advise the mother to let the child hold his breath or to give in to his demand? Your advise should be based only on any possible physiological damage to the child.

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: My advise will be to answer his demand. No one can hold his breath for a long time, but in the case of child holding too long can leads to mental damage, pain and accumulation of carbon dioxide in blood and the child can be unconscious.
