Clustering of hexagonal topology can be done in so many ways and each one will have different solutions for clustering and energy consumption. For example, one hex, two, three, four, 7, 9, 12, 13 . . . . . . hex patterns can be used to form a cluster, and anyone can satisfy the modularity requirement. But, selecting an appropriate CH is not that easy as it needs to be geographically at the center of sensor members. From that point of view, selecting 7-hex cells as a cluster might be appropriate.
