What is meant by the term indexing a spark plug?

What will be an ideal response?

Indexing a plug is a high-performance procedure usually used only in high-compression racing engines. The idea is to have the back side of the ground electrode face the exhaust valve so the fuel coming in through the intake valve can blow directly into the gap.
