Explain the benefits of using creative drama in early childhood classrooms. Include examples of at least two appropriate drama activities to use with young children and relate how this supports the benefits you have already identified

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary.
Creative drama is a non-pressure approach that allows children to participate at their level and be successful. There is no memorization of exact dialog and performance is not stressed.
An example of an effective activity would be reading Three Billy Goats Gruff to the children. Then discuss the story, events, and characters with the children. The children can select the part they would like to play and act out the story.
Benefits:
Gain experience with using language and speaking. Collaborate with other children to determine how to dramatize the story. Begin to empathize with other people and their feelings. Appreciate literature and stories from books.
