The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) prohibits employers from discriminating against employees or applicants with disabilities. The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 prohibits employers from discriminating against employees and applicants on the basis of age, where the individual is 40 or older. The Equal Pay Act of 1963 prohibits employers from paying workers of one sex less than the rate paid an employee of the opposite sex for work on jobs that require equal skill, effort, and responsibility, and that are performed under the same working conditions.
