Often, the term is used to cover related matters, such as limits on types of ammunition and magazines, or other technology.
2. Opposition: Draw upon the Second Amendment; also use the argument more guns make society safer because gun violence can be intercepted when it occurs.
3. Proponents: Point to the tens of thousands of people killed by gun violence each year; also argue that fewer guns, better records on who has them, and some restrictions on purchase, possession, and storage would still allow law-abiding people to have firearms, while resulting in far fewer deaths.
